About Mary Ellen Lucas

Spirit Focused

My path has never been restricted to a specific religious tradition. My spiritual journey has been wide and inclusive, spanning Astrology, Native American culture, Metaphysical belief systems, Eastern traditions and other studies. I have been applying what I have learned to my professional work with clients on a full-time basis since 2000.

It is a daunting task to write a pithy and creative story about my spiritual journey. I could choose to rattle off the typical bio information. Which pivotal moments in my life would be the most useful for you to know about me? Funny though, breaking my life down into bullet points is harder than you may imagine. It might be helpful for you to know that Iʼm a mom. I have 3 children, 2 sons and 1 daughter. All grown. I am blessed to have two grandkids. My oldest son has special needs. Thatʼs been a big part of my spiritual journey. It might be good if you knew Iʼve wrestled with many fears, challenges and disappointments throughout life and have come out on the other side to find a large measure of peace and joy.

Iʼm sure itʼs no surprise if I acknowledge I have a long history of connecting with Spirit stretching back to my childhood. As a child I was raised Catholic and gained much from that faith tradition. Iʼve spent time living and working on an Indian reservation in New Mexico and later stayed briefly at a Catholic spiritual community in Canada. Iʼve worked at an Episcopalian Cathedral in the center of a large city. I graduated with a degree in Interfaith / Interspiritual ministry from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in NYC. I was ordained in 2011. In short, Iʼm serious about this spiritual stuff! And thatʼs probably the most useful thing for you to know.

What I Do

Out of my desire to offer loving service in the world, I simply offer myself. I am able to sit with you in a grounded, open-hearted way and listen. This might be all you need. To be really heard. To be reminded of your own inherent divinity and humanity. I may ask you questions to help engage and encourage you to expand your own spiritual awareness, and support you in your life to live authentically with a sense of purpose. I may encourage you to take action in the world to help with its’ repair. I may challenge you. I may offer a spiritual perspective to a life challenge. I will definitely allow you to express the fears you have held and will hold no judgement or criticism. This is my ministry: to recognize my own and your inherent nature as spiritual. I wish to fully engage in the human experience of living on the planet Earth. And I wish this for you as well.

I have worked with Mary Ellen Lucas in many capacities for 15 years or more. Her spiritual direction and mentoring are wise, deep, compassionate and loving. Her astrological work is focused, accurate, practical and spiritual and always helpful; her classes and my sessions with her are high points of my year. Her Reiki and energy work have been very effective in alleviating both physical and emotional pain for me. If I could, I'd give ongoing sessions with Mary Ellen to ALL the people I care about.Neal S.
